LANSING — State Rep. Angela Witwer (Delta Township) spoke earlier this week at the Hunger Solutions Day event in Lansing, hosted by The Food Bank Council of Michigan. The Food Bank Council of Michigan represents regional food banks that serve all 83 counties in Michigan, and Hunger Solutions Day is a day for dedicated legislators and community leaders to come together and brainstorm ideas for increasing food security in the state. Following the event, Rep. Witwer issues the following statement:

“Hunger and food security, especially when it comes to our children, is a solvable issue in our society. Republican or Democrat, we certainly can all agree that no child should ever have to worry about where his or her next meal is coming from, and when those worries are present we have a responsibility as legislators to address what is standing in the way of their families being able to put food on the table. I believe that if we work together with that shared goal in mind, we can really begin to make a difference and change many lives for the better.”
