LANSING – State Representative Jim Slezak (D-Davison) today reminded residents that the Genesee County Health Department is holding free H1N1 flu vaccine clinics for residents in most need of the vaccine.
The free clinics will be held today, Tuesday, Oct. 27 and Thursday, Oct. 29 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Genesee County Health Department - Burton Branch, G-3373 S. Saginaw St. in Burton.
No appointments are necessary. However, because the current vaccine supply is limited, it only will be provided to the following residents:
- Children and young adults, age 2 to 24.
- Residents age 25 to 49 who live with or care for infants less than 6 months.
- Health care or emergency medical personnel, age 50 and under.
While the vaccine is free, residents with health insurance must bring their insurance information to receive it. This includes Medicare Part B, Medicaid and Health Plus.
For more information about the clinics and the H1N1 vaccine, visit www.gchd.us or call the Genesee County Health Department at (810) 257-3887.
